Is the Pope a globalist?

Submitted by frlarry on Thu, 04/04/2019 - 09:59

It has been alleged that the Pope is a globalist. I believe the person who declared this incorrectly derived this notion from the fact that the Catholic Church is, by definition and by history, the universal (meaning world-wide) Church. (As it says in the Creed, the Church is "One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic.")

Prophetic chaff

But the prophet who presumes to speak a word in my name
which I have not commanded him to speak,
or who speaks in the name of other gods,
that same prophet shall die.

And if you say in your heart,
"How may we know the word which the LORD has not spoken?" --
when a prophet speaks in the name of the LORD,
if the word does not come to pass or come true,
that is a word which the LORD has not spoken;
the prophet has spoken it presumptuously,
you need not be afraid of him.

Abortion and Contraception - the Unacknowledged Link?

Submitted by frlarry on Tue, 01/25/2011 - 14:32

Actually, it's not entirely unacknowledged. Curiously, Pope Paul VI does not mention the link explicitly in Humanae Vitae, that enormously prescient encyclical of 1968, yet in ¶ 17 he already calls attention to what we can recognize today as the roots of the widespread resort to abortion:

"People die."

This is the damning explanation of official indifference to barbarity in the Philadelphia abortion clinic run by Dr. Kermit Gosnell. The grisly details can be found in a powerful piece by Michael Cook at MercatorNet, "Oh well, people die." Even the one opinion piece at the Huffington Post makes no excuse for official malfeasance.

Underage sex in America

Submitted by frlarry on Sat, 01/22/2011 - 20:22

Parents of school children at Markham Elementary School in Oakland, CA., were aghast when they heard reports that children in a second grade class "engaged in oral sex and stripped off some of their clothes during class." (See "Calif school eyes accounts of sex by 2nd graders.") Parents were not the only ones upset that MTV decided to air "Skins," apparently a somewhat explicit exhibition of underage teens having group sex, among other things.

Official malfeasance in the monitoring of abortion service facilities

The report handed down by the grand jury can be obtained from the office of the District Attorney of Philadelphia. A summary of the indictment and the associated events can be found at LifeNews.com. See "Health Dept Ignored Abortionist Who Killed Woman, Babies With Scissors." This sort of systematic cover-up occurred at the state level in Kansas two years ago when the current Secretary of HHS, Kathleen Sebelius, was the governor. It will take a major reform of government at all levels to end these atrocities.
