The news media yesterday were falling all over themselves to commemorate the 25th anniversary of John Lennon's (October 9, 1940 - December 9, 1980) death. I don't recall any similar hoopla over the 25th anniversary of the death of Archbishop Fulton Sheen (May 8, 1895 - December 9, 1979) the year before. But then, my memory isn't all that good.

I like the play on acronyms with this one. It's a report on a study of 13,000 teens just published in the American Journal of Preventive Medicine. To summarize, the old wisdom that teens with depression self-medicated with alcohol, drugs and sex gets the causal link exactly backwards. According to "Sexually Transmitted Depression — The New STD?"
